Olivia and Lucy

I was nothing short of a weeping mess when I watched the lovely Olivia Binfield tell the world about her passion for animals with a poem she wrote herself on Britain's got talent. So adorable...Have a look see.

What a little angel!

  4. I know isn't she amazing!

I loved how the people in the audience were looking at her...they were really thinking about what she was saying. Such a little person can make such a big difference :-)

Hi Chelsea, nice to meet you! Glad my puppies have won you over :-)

  7. Wow. "... and a little child shall lead them." That is one rapt audience, and Olivia is one adorable, amazing little girl! What a wonderful voice for the voiceless she is! I too was moved to tears by this. Thank you SO much for sharing it!

I was especially struck by how when she first appeared with a snake wrapped around her shoulders, everyone reacted with fear and revulsion. But as soon as she told them the snake was Lucy, they laughed and relaxed! The power of a personal name to turn a being from a something to a someone. (I wonder what difference it would make if farmed animals wore tags that said "I'm Emily" or "My name is Daisy" instead of numbers!)

  8. Ahh I'm glad you liked it :-)

She really is a wonderful voice, how can you not sit up and listen when she presents it in such a sweet and innocent way. I've looked her up and she's done a few more things to raise awareness the little angel.

That is so true about the name thing, I didn't even notice that at first! I've heard lots of people say that they couldn't eat animals if they knew they had a name - therefore they don't want to give them names. That's all the more reason to give them names you fools!
