I've been meaning to start this blog for a while now...the truth is, and I'm ashamed to admit it really, that when animal rights are on my mind it's all I can think about, literally, but I go through waves, I get so deeply saddened by the way this world treats its beloved animals that I throw myself into my work and decide I'll make a 'real' contribution at some point when I'm not so busy. I have a pretty hectic schedule, which makes it all too easy for me to find excuses.
Fortunately, I took a day off today and read the accounts of inspiring activists like Ingrid Newkirk and Keith Mann and decided that inactivity was no longer an option for me. So here I am; 'active'. This blog is for me to document my musings and animally activities, it's to make sure I don't allow myself to slip into ignorance once again and remind me that it's too important to ignore.

What a wonderful idea for starting a blog! We won't let you slip! ;) there's plenty of inspiration online - I wish I could do more too, but all I'm really active in right now is promoting sighthounds as pets and campaigning to stop export of greyhounds from Ireland to china... At least it's a start! X
